At the 2010 BC Soccer Annual General Meeting the membership approved an important amendment regarding Rule 22- Risk Management, which requires every volunteer or employee of the Association or affiliated organization, over the age of 19, who at any time could be expected in the performance of their duties to:

  1. be with any minor aged person;
  2. be entrusted with performing financial duties;
  3. be responsible for book keeping or bank accounts(s);

Beginning in 2014, KLM has adopted the FREE Ministry of Justice CRRP system for all new and renewed KLM Officials’ CRCs as recommended by VYSA. While slightly slower than the previously used MyBackcheck, the CRRP program conducts a vulnerable sector check that MyBackcheck does not contemplate. MyBackcheck only shows if a person has received a conviction, whereas the CRRP will reveal if an individual has received any charges against them that are related to the interaction with vulnerable persons including minors.

From time to time, the KLM may direct an individual to complete their CRC using MyBackcheck in order to meet Intent to Play deadlines or other such registration deadlines. Under these unique circumstances, the club may choose to reimburse the Official the cost of their CRC up to a maximum of $48 upon submission of a receipt and detailing of such an expense.

At all times KLM will encourage and promote the use of the free Ministry of Justice CRRP. with an objective of having all officials updated on or before June 1, 2015. This will allow KLM to retain all CRC data in one place with only one organization.
