Spring Break Soccer Camp: U8-U12

(2008-2012 born)

KLM’s half-day soccer camp is a performance-focused, active and fun outdoor soccer experience for young soccer players (U8-U12). Qualified, experienced staff coaches lead a variety of engaging activities including daily skills-building warm-ups, technical themes, and scrimmages to practice what has been learned. Female coaches lead and are role-models for our KLM Girls camp. Sessions are balanced and allow for natural breaks though players play extensively over the 3-hour sessions across from the popular and convenient Hillcrest Community Centre. Program Details

Event: Spring Break Soccer Camp: U8-U12 (2020)
Participants: U8 (2012) – U12 (2008) girls & boys
Dates: March 23 (Mon) – March 27 (Fri), 2020
Schedule: U8-U10 Girls: 9-12noon (Riley Park – grass)
U8-U10 Boys: 9-12noon (Riley Park – grass)

U11-U12 Girls: 9-12noon (Hillcrest Mini – turf)
U11-U12 Boys: 1-4pm (Hillcrest Mini – turf)

Drop off 30 minutes before program start.
Pick-up within 30 minutes after program end.

Location: U8-U10: Riley Park (grass field)
Ontario St & 30th Ave (across from Nat Bailey Stadium)
Park along Ontario St, or in Riley Park or Hillcrest parking lot

U11-U12: Hillcrest Mini (turf field)
Dinmont Ave & Midlothian Ave (west corner of Hillcrest Park)
Park along Midlothian or Dinmont Ave or in Hillcrest parking lot

Format: Qualified staff coaches lead a variety of engaging activities including daily skill-building warm-ups, technical themes, and scrimmages. Sessions are balanced and allow for natural breaks though players play extensively over the 3-hour sessions.
Equipment: Players must have their own shin-guards and cleats.
Water, labelled water bottle, sports-friendly snack and sunscreen are essentials.
Cost: $155 for 5 days of performance-focused soccer led by experienced KLM soccer coaches. KLM strives to be accessible to all. See Common Questions below regarding financial assistance. The refund deadline for spring break soccer camp is March 15th.

Weavers are to be signed by parent/guardian on the first day of camp.
Parents/guardians are required to sign-in and sign-out players each day.

Player Development
Need more spring soccer?! Always feel free to reach out to the head coach or club to ask about opportunities that match your needs. KLM’s “Spring Fantasy” and “Spring Tourney” series are designed and scheduled to be complementary (starting as early as U7-U10). Significant player development occurs during the spring season in players who attend both, and commit to achieving their next level. The Fantasy series creates significant play opportunities while the Tourney series creates team experiences against varied opposition.

Parent Volunteers
KLM is a non-profit youth sports organization supported by the dedication of staff and volunteers alike. Please contact info@klmsoccer.com if interested in volunteering for KLM club or for your child’s age-group. Remember that the coach rely on parents each week for communicating player availability, punctuality of players, goal net set-up, etc. Be part of making KLM better!

Financial Assistance?

Refunds?

Parental Attitudes?
Parents have a big impact in youth sports. Modelling positive attitudes, sportsmanship, patience, respectful behaviour and spectator roles is integral to success in youth soccer. Help our coaches make KLM soccer positive for all involved.

Bringing Issues Forward?
There are always surprises in youth soccer. Remember that fields, times, etc may be adjusted for many reasons, and sometimes at last minute. Please work with staff to model healthy and proactive communication. Please let your coach know if you have concerns, or if needed, forward your comments confidentially to feedback@klmsoccer.com and an appropriate KLM director will get back to you.
