*KLM Soccer Club follows the evolving recommendation and guidance as outlined by provincial health and sports authorities including the BC’s Restart Plan, BC CDC, ViaSPort and BC Soccer.  

Program Highlights:

  • Inclusive package with qualified, all led by friendly staff coaches
  • Players are placed on teams and will play in the Vancouver City League
  • 2 weekday practices includes one team practice and 1 academy practice on Thursdays
  • 1 league game on Saturdays (usually mornings)
  • One indoor/futsal style indoor soccer practice day during colder months of January-February (Dependant on Vancouver School Board Gymnasium availability due to Covid-19 restrictions)
  • Club-focus remains on creating a ‘great soccer experience’ for each player

Holidays Winter Holidays: Dec 13th – Jan 2nd projected
Games are typically not scheduled during Thanksgiving (mid-October) or Family Day weekend (mid-Feb). The club notifies team officials, who in turn notify players & parents of all schedule changes ahead of time.

Teams practice twice per week under qualified staff coaches.

Indoor Gyms

KLM U10 teams have one indoor/futsal style soccer practice during the winter months. The cost is included in the registration. Indoor practices are held at either 6-7pm or 7-8pm at local school gymnasiums; parents will be notified by their team officials. It is great chance to avoid snowy days and try indoor style of soccer!

*All indoor practices are dependent on approval from the Vancouver School Board.

Equipment Players require shin-guards and cleats; be mindful of shoe-wear for the different fields. KLM provides players with official KLM uniforms for all league games. Think weather-appropriate clothes. (See Common Questions below)
Weather We play rain or shine. KLM notifies parents by 7pm Fridays of field closures as is determined by the Vancouver Park Board and/or Vancouver School Board. See Common Questions below regarding ‘Field Status’.

Registration KLM emails ‘program start reminder’ to parents in late August.
Registration fees, timeline, refund policies, etc:

There are no hidden fees at KLM such as “volunteer fee” and “assessment fee”, which can vastly increase seasonal registration costs. All KLM players receive the same comprehensive package to the benefit of the players and their teams.

U10 KLM Package:
– $455 early-bird,   $525 after April 1st
– Qualified staff coaching for both practices & games
– One practice, One academy session & a league game each week
– One indoor/futsal style indoor gym practice during colder months
– 6 months of soccer!

Appropriate Clothing?
For practices, players can wear shorts or pants. For games, players need to wear their team jerseys, shorts, and socks. Note, players can wear thermal-wear under their shorts & jerseys for games. For cold and wet weather, please consider soccer-appropriate hats, gloves, rain-gear or thermal-wear to keep warm. This is a parent/player responsibility.

Field Status & Alternative Field(s)?
Games are sometimes scheduled on alternate (gravel) fields due to weather concerns. Team officials inform parents as soon as they are aware of scheduling changes.

Goalkeeping require a different skill set and training. All interested KLM players will have the opportunity to learn goalkeeping, as well as receive training.

Financial Assistance?

Refunds are possible prior to deadline, less a $50 administration fee. The refund deadline for the upcoming season is April 1st. See www.klmsoccer.com/registration for further details. Requests and questions are to be emailed to the Registrar at info@klmsoccer.com.

Uniform Deposits?
KLM will collect a $50 uniform deposit at the beginning of the season. The deposit is returned when a player returns their shirt and shorts at the end of the season. Uniform deposits are coordinated prior to season start.

There are always surprises in youth soccer. Remember that fields, times, etc may be adjusted for many reasons, and sometimes at last minute.
